 | Campillo Collection Case
NEW ARRIVALS FROM BODEGAS CAMPILLOMoving to Spain we are pleased to report that the new releases from the premium rioja producers Bodegas Campillo have arrived. Part of he Faustino Group (many will be familiar with the Faustino I and Faustino V wines) Campillo is their prestige range. With a stunning location 610m above sea level in the Rioja Alavesa, the grapes are selected from vines up to 100 years old. The wine is kept in oak barels from between 17 months to 2 years until the perfect balance is reached. We are pleased to feature wines from some superb vintages. The 1998 Crianza is long and smooth, with spicy notes, similar in style to the excellent 1996 - better, in our view, than many Reservas on th market. The 1996 Reserva has power, while the Gran Reserva, from the fabulous 1994 vintage, is already magnificent. It has black cherry notes just starting to emerge and will reveal more treasures in the years ahead. We also have a few cases of the sublime Reserva Especial 1995 (available in very attracive wooden boxes of 6), while by contrast, we have some of their delicious barrel fermented white wine.
